National Welding League Competition Series

2026-27 Registration now open

In Project MFG’s National Welding League, students prove themselves across the welding disciplines the industry runs on: reading blueprints, working to Weld Procedure Specifications, and laying beads that hold up to AWS standards. The challenges mimic real-world pressure, complete with deadlines and self-assessments judged against the same criteria the pros face. And the stakes are real: nothing in the modern world stands, sails, or ships without a welder behind it.

Competition details

If you’re interested in a way to assess your students’ welding knowledge and challenge their skills, the Project MFG Welding League is the perfect opportunity.

Throughout the season, student competitors will engage in a series of project-based challenges that require them to demonstrate proficiency in various welding processes. These projects will evaluate their capabilities in key areas such as fit-up, joint preparation, and the quality of the final weld.

The season will consist of 2 remote rounds held at your school, with qualifying finalists traveling to our National Championship.

See our Project MFG 2026-27 Season Playbook for all details.
