Clash of Trades Recap

2024 in review

As we wrap up another great year, let’s look back at the key moments, milestones, and the passion that drove us.

This year, students from 44 out of 50 US states joined our competitions. We aim to include students from all 50 states in the future! In our Advanced Manufacturing competition, we had 60 schools participate. Our new national Machining competition filled up quickly with 105 students from 40 schools taking part in its very first year. We also had 350 students from 122 schools in our National Welding League, and 74 students from 23 schools competed in our Maritime Welding competitions.

The Gene Haas Foundation believes that the future of manufacturing relies on skilled workers. To grow this workforce, they aim to inspire young people to pursue manufacturing careers and create modern training programs that equip students with essential skills.

A key goal of the Foundation is to provide financial support to students interested in manufacturing. So, they offer scholarships through career centers, technical schools, community colleges, and universities, directing our funding to attract potential students.
