October is National Manufacturing Month

October is National Manufacturing Month, and there’s no better time to shine a spotlight on the people and programs that keep American manufacturing strong. At Project MFG, we believe this month is more than just a celebration, it’s a chance to explore, learn, and share what makes manufacturing such an exciting and important part of our future.

Here are a few ways students, instructors, and supporters can celebrate all month long:

1. Explore Hands-On learning

Get into the shop, classroom, or lab and put your skills to work. Whether you’re welding, machining, or learning additive manufacturing, every project helps you build confidence and discover new possibilities in the trades. Instructors can make the month special by planning a new project, competition, or demonstration that challenges students to create something they’re proud of.

2. Share Your Work

Show off what you’ve been working on! Post photos or videos of your projects on social media and tag @ProjectMFG with the hashtag #MyPMFGProject. Highlighting your hard work not only inspires others to get involved, it also shows how much talent and creativity exists in U.S. manufacturing classrooms and shops.

3. Connect with professionals in your community

This month, take some time to connect with local manufacturers, visit a nearby facility, or invite an industry guest to speak to your class. Seeing how the skills you’re learning today are used in the real world helps build excitement for future careers in manufacturing.

4. Celebrate each other

Manufacturing Month is all about celebrating the people apart of the community. From the students learning new skills, the instructors guiding them, and the partners supporting hands-on education. Take a moment to recognize someone who has made an impact in your journey or your classroom.

5. Keep the support and momentum going

National Manufacturing Month might last for just one month, but the excitement doesn’t have to stop there. Keep learning, keep making, and keep inspiring others to explore the world of manufacturing.

Together, we’re Bringing U.S. Manufacturing Back to Center Stage, not just in October, but all year long.
