Youth Welding challenge

Hosted by Weld Like a Girl. Yuma, Arizona

We partnered with Weld Like a Girl to host the 2nd annual Youth Welding Challenge and Career Discovery. This event brought together home-schooled students between the ages of 10 and 17 to learn more about welding and the many career options available in the skilled trades!

Hawaii Instructor Workshop

We kicked off our Welding Instructor Workshop in Oahu, Hawaii, and it was a great time! At this event, 20 instructors from different islands participated in this event to learn and grow together. A big shoutout to the Hawaii Carpenters Association and the Training Fund (HCATF) for hosting us. We also want to thank the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, Ku’i Hao, the Department of Education, and all our industry partners for their awesome support. It was great to see everyone come together to advance our skills in welding!

Kicking off national welding league

The National Welding League competition series consists of three rounds. In October, teams received the Round 1 project, which they completed remotely at their schools and submitted by mid-November. This month, we kicked off Round 2, and all competitors should have received a new fabrication kit. They now have one month to complete these new projects. Good luck to all competitors, and stay tuned to see who advances to the National Championship in May!

ACCS Students Crush Competition in Clash of Trades Championship

The 2024 Project MFG Clash of Trades Championship was more than a national competition – it was a showcase of skill, precision, and the future of American manufacturing. Calhoun Community College secured a first-place finish, while Central Alabama Community College claimed third, proving Alabama community colleges are a force on the national stage.
